Beyond Democracy

Hi, I’m an advocate of non-authoritarian governance. It’s called Sociocracy.

Here I have collected all my vlogs about sociocracy. I call this series ‘Beyond Democracy.’

We can only change business-as-usual by changing the processes we use to make decisions and accomplish things together.

The first key is this non-authoritarian governance.
The second key is to create new organizations and power structures that exist to serve us instead of extracting a profit from us.

After these eight video blog entries I’ll have another series with suggestions about how we can use sociocracy to create enterprises that make our localities stronger while also creating jobs. I call that series ‘Moving from Democracy to Sociocracy.’

Here are links to the vlogs themselves on YouTube.

Beyond Democracy 1 – We Can Do Better (2:43)

Beyond Democracy 2 – What is FUNDAMENTALLY different about Sociocracy, a.k.a. Dynamic
Governance (4:53)

Beyond Democracy 3 – How Sociocracy works (8:44) This one’s a little funny, but I drone on
a bit about the rules, so it might be better read.

Beyond Democracy 4 – What Sociocracy Looks Like In Use (6:07)

Beyond Democracy 5 – How People Who Use Sociocracy Talk About It (6:25)

Beyond Democracy 6 – How People Who Use Sociocracy Grow and Change (5:26)

Beyond Democracy 7 – Self-Ownership (3:59)

Beyond Democracy 8: Wrap up and intro to ‘Moving from Democracy to Sociocracy’ (3:59)
